Pump Track Jam

Time for another Dirty Thursday. Today will be another Green's Lick workday. We'll do some work to get it ready for National Trails Day. We'll also do some other little side projects. Show up and earn your Biker Bucks and drink some cold Dirty Jacks beer.

Dirty Thursdays

Just did the first of two workdays on Green's Lick. We spent some time getting it ready for the BIG workday, National Trails Day, in June. We even did some work on that last dreaded jump that seems to toss people. Next Thursday May 8th is the next one. So come on down and give a little back to the ' Creek.

Dirty Thursdays are trail work days at Bent Creek the first and second Thursdays of each month. Earn some good trail karma and help repair the trails you know and love. Pisgah Area Sorba members receive $10 in Biker Bucks good at any WNCBDA bike shop. Join PAS at a workday and you'll get and extra $5 in Biker Bucks, too.

Its Demo Day time again. Pro mountain biker Kirt Voreis will be coming to town May 10 with the Allride Tour. What this means to you is FREE Santa Cruz Demo Bikes!! Kirt will be at the store sending out bikes all day long, including the Blur LT, their most popular bike.

We'll also be cleaning out the closets and having a HUGE sale. Be sure to stop in and check out the deals. We might even be grilling up some hot dogs!

The Hell of the North

Paris Roubaix is Tomorrow. It's one of the best of the Classics, at least it's my fave. Try and catch it if you can. There are a couple of pre-race articles at www.cyclingnews.com.

Be sure and catch this pre-race tech article with a bunch of pictures. It shows some of the changes the teams make to the bikes just for Paris-Roubaix. Most teams will run older box section rims and tires with tread (almost).


Some will even run a different crank, like this one from Sram, it sure looks a lot like a Dura-Ace.

Another Frostbike 2008 Update

Surly's line continues to grow and offers nice cheap simple ways to get you out on the trail or road.Here's their Conundrum Unicycle in a 24 inch wheel.

Here's the Conundrum with 26 x 3.7 inch tire.

Said 3.7 inch tire. The Surly Enodmorph.

The Surly Big Dummy. It integrates with the Xtra-Cycle for Hauling A LOT of Cargo!

Just to let everyone know Bent Creek is very muddy. As a shop we do not recommend that the trails be ridden in their current condition. If you must ride stick to gravel roads. We want to stay on the good side of the Forest Service.
